Theme 2010

Nurturing the Earth, our Community Gardens, and our Garden Club Friendships”

The Elk Rapids Garden Club (ERGC) has  volunteers that cultivate a legacy of community gardens. We provide garden club members with educational opportunities in all aspects of gardening and floral design.

ERGC aids in the protection and conservation of natural resources, promotes civic beautification and encourages the improvement of roadsides and parks. The members of the garden club practice what we have learned by maintaining and cultivating ten heritage Village gardens.

Join our garden club today and share the gardening joy.

Our Mission: The purpose of this club is to protect our environment, to beautify our homes and village, to cultivate a taste for knowledge, to foster a love of plants and trees, and to nurture friendships.

Message from the President:

It is with great pleasure to serve as President of the Elk    Rapids Garden Club for the 2010 calendar year.  I am  deeply honored to be able to work with such a talented  membership.  The ERGC members display extraordinary  talents in many diverse areas of interests.

The theme for this year is “Nurturing the Earth, our    Community Gardens, and our Garden Club Friendships”. A great series of programs have been scheduled that reflect these interests.  The life of our club derives from the    genuine warmth and concern of the members, not only for one another, but also for the world and lovely Village that surrounds us.

I’d like to thank all of the past and present members who have given us the opportunity to enjoy such a wonderful Club.  Your officers, standing and resource committee members and I look forward to serving and working with all Club members in the coming year.

Warmest regards,

Sue Finlayson
