was a memorial dedication in South Arrowhead Garden.
September
3: Paint our shed, 9 am (September
5 Rain date, 9 am) Several
volunteers are need to paint the club’s shed. Have fun painting it with several club members. All supplies will be supplied.
No Rembrandt’s required! Kay Goodall will be calling for volunteers. The Northern Michigan Flower Show Judges Guild extends
an invitation to garden club members to attend their guild meetings. A judge from their own garden club will
mentor the ladies in creative design work. Our meetings take place in Traverse City during the months of May, June,
August and September. This is a fabulous opportunity to bring your work to our meetings, learn from the judges when
their work is critique, and each month having the excitement of putting together a different design challenge (with the help
of your mentor). The judges are most kind and very helpful to each other--a definite sisterhood. One requirement
is to purchase the Flower Show Handbook. Call Judy Larson at 264-9880
- We collected 45 e-mail addresses for the State
of Michigan’s website at the May meeting. Val Dinvald, the web master for the State’s web site, is registering
all of those in the next few weeks. If you were unable to get your name on the list at the May meeting, please
go to the http://www.michigangardenclubs.org web site. You will be able to register yourself. You will then have access to the States many resources reserved
for registered members. By registering you will also receive the Michigan Garden Club’s Inc newsletter
online in the future. We will save our Michigan Garden Club, Inc $26,000.00 of our dues. We will save untold paper
and ink from entering the waste stream. This is one small step of conservation by many special garden club people.

your calendars.
- On the months of February, March, April, May, August and September there
will be a ten minute workshop on flower arranging. Each workshop will present a different arrangement style:

Parallel Design Announcement: Rose Borton, Myrta Keelan, Carol Brock, Inez Gotts and Judy Larson have passed their boards
and have become Landscape Design consultants. We are very proud of their accomplishments.
Fundraiser committee of Myrta Keelan, Char Fitzpatrick,
and Elaine Olson are looking for fund raising ideas. Please contact them with any new ideas.
