Educational Field Trips for 2011

The Elk Rapids Garden Club

March - Cherry Hill Greenhouse, Boyne Falls, MI

Date will be early to mid-March. 

Bring your container or buy one there.  Purchase your plant material and plant your container. Leave your container in the care of the greenhouse until just before Mother’s Day when we will pick them up. Lunch -  Cafe Sante - One Water Street, Boyne City, MI

May 17 - Breeze Hill Greenhouse, Traverse City, MI

Join us for a buying trip or just for fun.

Lunch - After visit to Breeze Hill
                                             

June 21 - Mackinac Island Tour, Mackinac Island, MI

Enjoy a guided tour of the gardens and grounds of the historic Grand Hotel located on the island, or a

guided tour and explanation of the geology of the island.

Lunch - On the island - to be determined
 

August 23 - Polly’s Planting and Plucking, Harbor Springs, MI

At this outing we will hear a talk on Fall Garden Design.

Lunch -Little Traverse Bay Golf Course, Harbor Springs

Note - All dates and locations are subject to change. Information will be updated by our field trip chairperson, Jan Zander, during our regular monthly meetings. These are wonderful outings that provide helpful gardening information as well as a social event with fellow garden club members.         Carpooling is usually organized and lunches are always wonderful.
