General Membership

Meeting May 21, 2019 Presided by Paula Jorge

Pledge & Welcome: 45 members present. 2 guests – Nancy Casciano & Carol McLachlan.

Thank Hostesses: Darlene Dufort, Jan Johnson, Kathy Sergent, Karen Kingon.

Essay Winners: ERHS students read their winning essays on “To what extent can gardens support and protect threatened or endangered species?” 1st place $100 – Alea Wilkins, 2nd $75 – Tori Wilkins, 3rd $50 – Jordan Jansen

Announcements: Paula reminded members you can still register for the Mich Garden Club conference June 5 – 6 at the Great Wolf Lodge in TC. Volunteers are needed to work with Sharon Lanier to create a basket to auction there. Our next meeting will be held at the Harbor Pavilion. There is a $5 charge if you want to make your own herbal infused vinegar at the meeting. Cheryl Bachman reported the Aug. 27 meeting on Dahlias will now be at Pine Hill. For those interested, lunch will be served in the Pine Hill cafe for $15. Robyn Shank was not able to present our gifts in person to Pat Stites as she was not present. We are honoring her contribution to our club while she was chair of the Village Beautification committee.

Business Meeting

Minutes: Jane Hamilton previously distributed the minutes from Apr. Approved by President Paula Jorge.

Treasurer: Karen Stone explained the Year End Report 2018, Auditor Report, the Proposed Budget 2019, and the Jan – Apr 2019 Report. Linda Gruss read her Auditor’s report. Motions made by Maureen Frey to approve the 2019 Proposed Budget and to approve the Auditor’s Report. Both seconded and passed. Cash balance: $27, 390.
